Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Arts Kicks Off 2021 With Inspiration
Who else is ready to fast forward to 2021! Disney is getting excited too and has released more details on their upcoming Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, running Jan. 8 – Feb. 22, 2021, at Walt Disney World Resort.
This global celebration invites EPCOT guests to eat, drink, and be dazzled by their creative and culinary masterpieces. The event mixes visual, culinary and performing arts from around the world into an entertaining blend that’s fun for the entire family. Get ready to explore and purchase the brilliant and diverse work of more than 100 Disney and other invited artists on display in marketplaces encircling World Showcase Lagoon. Plus, everyone can show off their inner Picasso by participating in a paint-by-number mural that serves as a collaborative art project for all. Last but not least you can enter the artwork yourself thanks to special photo locations scattered around the park.
Guests will also indulge in over 15 Food Studios serving culinary art all around World Showcase that feature delicious Disney twists and art-inspired menus. And, of course, no visit is complete without finding the perfect piece of artwork or Festival merchandise to bring home.
New in 2021
Voices of Liberty are taking centerstage at America Gardens Theatre with a brand-new showcase called The Disney Songbook. From “When You Wish Upon a Star” to “Let It Go,” the ensemble will perform Disney songs and celebrate the artistry of Disney composers and lyricists.
If you are looking for a little more action then make sure to catch live performances by “Art Defying Gravity,” a spectacle of thrilling strength acts. Then head over to watch “Visual Art in Performance,” a high-energy, onstage visual artist who paints favorite Disney characters before your eyes in just a matter of minutes.
Art critics and gourmands alike can enjoy a feast for the eyes as well as the palate! Explore a world where food imitates art as the epicurean elite converge to create mouthwatering magic that rivals the masters.Guests can choose from a variety of Festival-exclusive food studios to please nearly every palate.
For example, Vibrante & Vívido Food Studio, a new location between France and Morocco, will feature a mouthwatering (and photo-ready) chilled seafood cocktail with octopus, scallops, shrimp, black garlic aïoli, tomato coconut sauce and serrano lime oil. Or, indulge on Blue Corn Pupusa stuffed with cheese and topped with shredded pork, guajillo and árbol chile sauce, cabbage slaw and aji amarillo crema.
Once your belly is full, make sure to check out the Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine. Guests will use their Festival Passport as their guide to look for specially notated menu items and track your progress by collecting a stamp after each purchase. Then, once you’ve savored all 5 artistic dishes, visit Decadent Delights food studio to claim a complimentary technicolor treat!
The popular Figment’s Brush with the Masters returns this year, as well, inviting you to help Figment learn about art on a scavenger hunt around World Showcase. To get started, purchase your map at select merchandise locations. Then, search for Figment hiding inside famous works of art at each World Showcase pavilion—just look for the Figment-themed picture frame. Every time you find Figment, add the corresponding sticker to the pavilion on your map. Once your journey is complete, return your map to Disney Traders for an artful surprise! Cost: $7.99, plus tax.
Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Arts will run for 46 days and be available with valid admission and a park reservation for the same date.
