5 Not-To-Be-Missed Shows Coming Your Way This Week
We’re back again with tips on some not-to-be-missed shows coming your way this week on Disney related channels! This week’s offerings include more of The Bachelor, some Charlie Brown, an up-and-coming comedy United We Fall and a little bit of Jake Gyllenhaal! What’s not to love!?
So remember these premiere dates, set those DVR’s and let’s social distance with one of the five shows on our list!
The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons – Ever!—Monday, August 3, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC
Follow along with Ali Fedotowsky as he shares behind-the-scenes stories from The Bachelorette include insights from some of the incredible trips she took in the season including Portugal, Tahiti and Turkey along with three incredible bachelors – Kasey Kahl, Roberto Martinez and Justin Rego. Join Ali as she joins Chris Harrison for a virtual walk down memory lane!
United We Fall—Wednesday, August 5, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC
Wednesday’s episode “My Favorite Marta” follows Jo Rodriguez (Christina Vidal Mitchell) as she steps in as a role model for her teenage niece, Marta Rodriguez (Olivia Taylor Cohen) to the dismay of her brother Chuy Rodriguez (Guillermo Rodriguez). Bill Ryan (Will Sasso) also plays matchmaker for his mom Sandy Ryan (Jane Curtin) who under the influence of post-colonoscopy drugs professes her love for her ex-husband (Sam McMurray.)
Howard—Friday, August 7, on Disney+
Howard tells the story of Howard Ashman who is the lyricist behind Disney classics including Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid. Directed by Don Hahn, the documentary features never-before-seen archival footage, personal films and photographs to provide an intimate look at his life, creativity and process behind his music. Starting off with his childhood in Baltimore through his formative years in New York and ultimately his untimely death from AIDS, Howard explore’s Ashman’s journey to become the lyricist behind some of the most beloved and well-known classic family films in the world. The film includes an interview with Ashman’s collaborator – Disney Legend Alan Menken who also provided a score for the film. Others interviewed in the moving portrait include Ashman’s partner Bill Lauch, sister Sarah Gillespie and friends (and Disney Legends) Jodi Benson and Paige O’Hara.
The Peanuts Movie—Friday, August 7, on Disney+
Fans of Charlie Brown and the gang won’t want to miss this film based on the Peanuts comic strip by Charles M. Schultz. This 2015 film from Blue Sky Studios and 20th Century Fox follows Charlie Brown (Noah Schnapp) who always tries his best against seemingly insurmountable odds. But when the little red-haired girl (voiced by Francesca Angelucci Capaldi) moves into the neighborhood he falls head over heels. Meanwhile his canine companion Snoopy (voiced by Bill Melendez) heads off on an epic adventure in a fantasy world as a World War I flying ace in pursuit of his nemesis the Red Baron while trying to win over a poodle named Fifi (Kristin Chenoweth.)
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time—Friday, August 7, on Disney+
Disney’s 2010 action-adventure film directed by Mike Newell and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer is set in medieval Persia where the adventurous Prince Dastan (Jake Gyllenhaal) teams up with princess Tamina (Gemma Arterton) to stop an angry ruler from unleashing a sandstorm that has the power to destroy the world. After being tricked into releasing the Sands of Time which gives mortals the ability to turn back time, Dastan and Tamina must now find the Dagger of Time, return the sands to the hourglass and find out who killed King Sharaman (Ronald Pickup.)
