Kevin Feige And Sony Working Together For ‘Spiderman: Far From Home’ Marketing
Marvel’s vast success in the film and television space has been, first and foremost, attributed to the masterful planning that takes place for the cohesion and connectivity of the story; it appears now that Marvel architect Kevin Feige and Sony are working together for Spiderman: Far From Home marketing.
Since 2008, the MCU has been one of the brightest successes of the entire film industry. The ambitious connected universe has spanned countless characters and numerous film trilogies and sagas.
The success can often be traced back- beyond the performances that bring life to beautifully written characters, and directors who formulate incredible stories and moments- to the man who steered the ship, and kept the many moving parts focused on a single unified goal; that man, is Kevin Feige.
On top of his vast executive and producer accomplishments, Feige had a vital hand in helping former Disney CEO Bob Iger broker one of the film’s most unprecedented deals in history.
The two partnered with Sony to bring cinema audiences the beloved character of Spiderman to Marvel’s robust cinematic universe.
After Spider-Man’s Marvel tenure was complete according to the original deal, the two company’s secured a second deal that will see Spiderman return for one more time.
According to Comicbook.com, the new arrangement, “would see Disney supply 25% of the budget for a 25% equity stake in No Way Home‘s grosses.”
Although the new deal would grant Disney equity stake on par with its budget contribution, the new agreement also changed the distribution of the film; stating,
“Under these new terms, Feige would maintain the creative lead over Sony’s MCU-set Spider-Man franchise that is owned and distributed by Sony Pictures.”
These new terms have now set forth the current marketing model that Kevin Feige, and the team at Sony, will follow for the next chapter in the MCU’s Peter Parker story.
It has been reported by comicbook.com, through an interview that Walt Disney Studios Marketing President, Asas Ayaz, has affirmed that Kevin Feige and Sony will be working together for Spiderman Far From Home marketing campaign.
Ayaz, speaking to Hollywood Reporter, stated, “Sony is absolutely handling the marketing for Spider-Man. Kevin Feige and his team are closely partnering with the Sony team on those. So there is coordination in that sense.”
“We also make sure we are aware of who is dropping what when. But we are not working together on the campaigns because it’s their film.”
The president continued,
“They are handling it but there is a level of coordination to make sure that it’s a win-win for everybody.”
It appears that Marvel and Sony’s arrangements have been a fruitful endeavor of cooperation and mutual gain; with Kevin Feige’s expertise, and Sony’s willingness to relinquish control, and assets, for why they could accomplish together being the driving force.
It appears as though the marketing campaign for Spiderman: No Way Home is soon on the horizon, as fans can expect a thrilling ride that will shift the Marvel universe, and bring a thrilling conclusion to Tom Holland’s Peter Parker trilogy.
