Will Dining Plans Return to Walt Disney World?
Upon reopening this month, Walt Disney World Resort made a massive change for guests by no longer offering dining plans. Since this decision was made, a countless number of clients have reached out to me asking whether or not they would make their return.
In order to reopen in a safe and meaningful way, Disney was forced to make many changes at their parks and resorts. There are a variety of factors that could have been the reasoning behind the change to dining plans.
For example, upon reopening there was a limited number of restaurant offerings. Restaurants that previously offered character dining no longer offered it. Buffets became family-style meals. All of these factors would not allow guests to fully enjoy and utilize the dining plans the way there were designed.
Dining Plan Breakdown
Most recently, the Walt Disney World Resort offered 4 different dining plans- Quick Service Dining Plan, Disney Dining Plan, Disney Dining Plus, and Deluxe Dining Plan. Each of these dining plans offers various benefits at a range of prices.
Being able to customize your vacation package with a dining plan not only provides you with an all-inclusive feel, but it usually ends up saving you money when dining at the resort.
The dining plans are flexible in that they include a large number of restaurants across all four theme parks, all Disney resort hotels, and even Disney Springs. You can even stop by ice cream carts and snack kiosks to use your “snack credits”.
The Quick Service Dining Plan is the perfect option for those on the go! Park-goers who are not looking to make reservations and would rather make plans as they go tend to favor this plan.
This plan includes 2 quick service meals, 2 snacks, and a resort refillable mug for each paying guest, per night of stay.
This is a great choice for guests who would like to have a nice table service meal during their stay but don’t want to spend too much time at restaurants. The table service meals in this plan include a variety of character dining experiences, which many guests like to schedule during their visits.
This plan includes 1 table service meal, 1 quick service meal, 2 snacks, and a resort refillable mug for each paying guest, per night of stay.
Disney Dining Plus
This plan is the newest addition to Disney’s dining lineup. It was created as an option to offer between the Disney Dining and Deluxe Dining options.
This plan includes 2 table service meals, 2 snacks, and a resort refillable mug for each paying guest, per night of stay.
The perfect choice for foodies! If you require 3 square meals a day- the Deluxe Plan may be just right for you. However, Disney tends to be very generous when it comes to portion sizes so many guests will actually combine 2 of their table service meals for a signature meal, which opens up many more dining options throughout Walt Disney World Resort.
In addition, this is the only dining plan whose table service meals also include an appetizer. It’s a great way to “eat your way around Disney”
This plan includes 3 table service meals, 2 snacks, and a resort refillable mug for each paying guest, per night of stay.
Will Dining Plans Return?
Finally, what many guests are wondering- will Disney once again offer their delicious dining plans? We recently received some news from an inside source that dining plans will return for 2021. At this time there is no exact date on when they will be available to add onto packages, but our source tells us that they will be available for 2021 visits.
Of course, at this time nothing is official until Disney makes a public announcement, but this certainly sounds hopeful!
