This Week! In Star Wars: ESB at 40 and Queen’s Peril
Yep, it’s been a whole week of Mondays, sandwiched between Thursday visits by Star Wars reporter Kristin Baver.
And today’s This Week! In Star Wars is special, because it celebrated the 40th anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back.
And, in the process of preparing StarWars.com Baver coaxed the following quote out of The Maker himself:
“They knew we were doing something that had never been done before and so that excited them and that kept their morale up. And even though we went through some very hard setbacks, I had to go up and be a parent and say, ‘We can do this. We’re not going to give up. We have to keep going.’ You just have to say, even though everything looks like it’s falling apart, trust me, it’s actually not.”
In referring to the making of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and his crew from ILM, George Lucas gave us all a solid pep talk.
Strong work, George. And great work Ms. Baver – great interview.
Moving into the show, we in The Baver Bunch enjoyed a preview of:
Battle on Hoth | Star Wars Galaxy of Adventures
The Empire strikes back as Darth Vader leads an attack against the Rebel base on Hoth. Celebrate the 40th anniversary of the original Star Wars sequel film with an all-new animated take on the adventure.

Baver on Books
Finally, fans received more breaking news on Queen’s Peril, the upcoming Star Wars book by E.K. Johnston.
As a reminder, Queen’s Peril picks up where Queen’s Shadow picked up:
When fourteen-year-old Padmé Naberrie wins the election for Queen of Naboo, she adopts the name Amidala and leaves her family to the rule from the royal palace. To keep her safe and secure, she’ll need a group of skilled handmaidens who can be her assistants, confidantes, defenders, and decoys. Each girl is selected for her particular talents, but it will be up to Padmé to unite them as a group. When Naboo is invaded by forces of the Trade Federation, Queen Amidala and her handmaidens will face the greatest test–of themselves, and of each other.
AND, now a familiar voice will be reading the audiobook:

No doubt, Queen’s Peril will be on an upcoming episode of “The Star Wars Show Book Club.”
Welp. Back to Groundhog Day. Hopefully the Mondays go quickly until next Thursday and the return of This Week! In Star Wars. #MTFBWY
