Star Wars: Ahsoka Returns To The Clone Wars Via Disney+
She was, for a short time, the most controversial character in Star Wars canon.
The original Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008) film, essentially an extended pilot that introduced Ahsoka Tano, still maintains an 18% (rotten) rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with an audience score of 39%.
The venerable Roger Ebert, the late great reviewer, said it succinctly:
Ahsoka Tano, by the way, is annoying. She bats her grapefruit-sized eyes at Anakin and offers suggestions that invariably prove her right and her teacher wrong.
Twelve-years later, and the turnaround is remarkable.
The about-face so complete, that Ahsoka’s voice actor Ashley Eckstein’s “Her Universe” clothing line is everywhere; Tano has her own book (voiced by Eckstein); her voice is in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker; and many, many viewers were nonplussed by the lack of Ahsoka in the first four chapters of the final season of The Clone Wars.
Well, Ahsoka is back — with a vengeance (as she is no Jedi) — and clearly carries the next episode.
