Ways That Teens Can Have An Out-Of-This-World Experience at Galaxy’s Edge
If you’re bringing teens along on your Disney vacation then we can’t think of a better hang-out spot then Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland on the West Coast and Disney’s Hollywood Studios on the east. Here you’ll find everything from space-aged eats to galactic experiences.
To give you just a taste of the fun that awaits, here are 5 reasons teens will enjoy their visit to a galaxy far, far away.
The Chance to Build Your Own Intergalactic Sidekick at the Droid Depot
Every adventurer needs a trusted companion and at the Droid Depot, you can build your own one-of-a-kind sidekick! Visitors can choose between a BB or R2 unit, receive blueprints, choose the parts and then your ready to assemble your new friend! Teens can even add a personality chip and other accessories to customize your droid exactly how you want it. Once complete, the droid can be operated by remote control.
The Opportunity to Enjoy Some Interstellar Treats
With all the adventuring at Galaxy’s Edge, it’s easy to work up an appetite. Hungry teens will definitely want to make a stop at Ronto Roasters for delicious on the go snacks. A highlight on the menu is Ronto Wraps a quick bite that is sure to tide you over! While you’re there take time to check out the 8D-J8 smelter droid that turns meats on the spit making sure each wrap you order is cooked to perfection.
Another great spot is Kat Saka’s Kettle known for their delicious popcorn treats. Be sure to try our favorite, the chocolate popcorn with red salt. If you work up a thirst be sure to stop by the neighboring Milk Stand for a refreshing cup of blue or green milk.
Exploring the Streets and Marketplaces at Black Spire Outpost
This Batuu marketplace is unlike anything you’ve ever experienced before. It’s filled with a wide array of unique items that can only be found at Galaxy’s Edge. The Creature Stall is a great place to start with its collection of exotic creatures and critters from around the galaxy. Our favorite is definitely the Kowakian monkey-lizard!
For those wanting to look the part, we also recommend a visit to Black Spire Outfitters where you’ll find a wide range of apparel designed to help you fit in with the locals!
Meet Key Players From the First Order and the Resistance
Be sure to have your camera phones charged and ready to go as you never know who you’ll meet at Galaxy’s Edge. From the Resistance, Chewbacca and Rey have been known to walk around the land looking for new recruits. Those preferring the dark side will want to be on the lookout for Stormtroopers as well as Kylo Ren who are trying to enlist new members for the First Order.
Pilot Your Own Spacecraft with Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run
Climb aboard the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy with Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. Teens can choose a variety of roles including pilot, gunner or engineer and head out to space on a special mission for Hondo Onaka. You’ll have the time of your life as you punch it into hyperdrive!
We hope you’ve enjoyed this look at a handful of reasons why Galaxy’s Edge is the ultimate playground for teens! And don’t forget- Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will be opening on December 5, 2019 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and in Disneyland on January 17, 2020.
