X-wing and TIE Fighters Coming to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland
2 new fleets of ships are joining the Star Wars spacecrafts. X-wing and TIE fighter starships are already docked at the new Galaxy’s Edge currently under construction at Disneyland.
The installation is quite pricey. The X-win and TIE fighter are both running $250,000 each, according to Anaheim building permits. The permits mention Jon Richards Co is working on the starship project. He has worked on scenic elements for Cars Land and Buena Vista Street at Disney California Adventure as well as Toontown. Jon Richards Co runs a 42,000-square-foot scenic design shop in Mira Loma and also another location in Orlando, Florida.
A model of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at the d23 Expo back in 2018 shows the X-wing and TIE fighters scattered all throughout the themed land. OC Register reports “The D23 model included a battle-scarred X-wing with a light blue pinstripe near the Rise of the Resistance trackless dark ride. A second X-wing was painted in the distinctive black and orange design of the starship used by Resistance commander Poe Dameron, introduced in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.””
I am so excited about Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opening in both Disney parks this year!
