10 Fantasyland Attractions in Magic Kingdom You Can’t Miss
Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland, one of the six themed lands found in Magic Kingdom, is home to some of the most timeless Disney attractions. Although adventure can be found in each one of the countless attractions, a few are at the top of our “must-do” list. Take time to ensure you visit these ten attractions to make your Disney vacation the most magical of them all.
1. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
In summer of 2014, the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train was opened in “New Fantasyland.” Unlike an ordinary roller coaster, this ride features carts that swing back and forth. As this steel coaster moves around corners and turns, riders rock from side to side through the diamond mine found in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
Doc, Dopey, and the other Dwarfs are seen mining in the tunnels for colorful, bright jewels while singing the classic song “Heigh-Ho.” The ride ends at the Seven Dwarfs Cottage where Snow White dances with her forest friends and the Dwarfs. Children and adults are bound to leave their experience on the mine train swaying with joy.
2. Be Our Guest Restaurant
Another great addition to Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland is the Be Our Guest Restaurant. Inspired by Beauty and the Beast, this unique dining experience invites guests into Beast’s enchanted castle. The Grand Ballroom, The West Wing, and The Castle Gallery dining halls masterly replicate the movie for an elaborate dining experience.
French influenced cuisine is served to guests, including French onion soup, French croissants, and the Gray Stuff that Lumiere memorably describes as delicious. Breakfast and lunch are offered as a quick service option, while the restaurant transforms into an elegant sit-down domain for dinner. Advance reservations are strongly recommended.
3. Princess Fairytale Hall
If your youngster is a fan of princesses, this is an absolute must. The Princess Fairytale Hall is a character experience that allows guests one-on-one time with a few of their favorite Disney princesses. Here you will find Cinderella, Rapunzel, Tiana, and the Disney Junior favorite, Elena of Avalor.
Guests are greeted into the enchanted ambiance to create a truly magical experience. Each visitor will get a chance to engage with the princesses and leave with memories that will last a lifetime. Photos and autographs are encouraged.
4. Journey of the Little Mermaid
Watch this animated classic come to life in Fantasyland in the Journey of the Little Mermaid. Guests travel through Prince Eric’s Castle to voyage under the sea with Ariel, Flounder, and an entire ocean of sea creatures.
This musical experience takes guests though scenes from the movie in a life-size clamshell. The attraction centers on Ariel’s encounters Ursula, Prince Eric, and Sebastian. Become part of their world in this vivid and lifelike attraction full of color and song.
5. Mad Tea Party
Inspired by the Mad Hatter himself, Mad Tea Party invites guests to spin into Wonderland in their very own teacup. Celebrate your “unbirthday” in this whirling and twirling attraction. The party starts as guests enter a large teacup decorated with pastel colors and silly designs. As the cups being to spin, guests spiral in circles around a giant teapot.
The music and atmosphere assist in the full Wonderland experience. Guests are in full control of how much their teacup spins with a center wheel. Tweedledee, Tweedledum, the White Rabbit, and Mad Hatter himself are often found hanging around the tea cups, so make sure to keep an eye out for your Disney favorites after disembarking from this dizzying ride inside Fantasyland!
6. Dumbo the Flying Elephant
This classic attractioninside Fantasyland invites guests of all ages to take a ride through the sky with Dumbo. Riders choose their elephant, strap in, and sail up and down as the ride carousels in circles over a pool of water and lights. Guests control how high their elephant takes them, and when it comes back down.
This attraction was expanded in 2012, offering two flying elephant rides. An indoor area that features a playground for children connects the two. This attraction brings together family members of every age for a magical flight filled with highflying fun.
7. Enchanted Tales with Belle
Located in Maurice’s cottage, children are brought right into the Beauty and the Beast story. As you enter, you are taken though the main room and eventually to Maurice’s workshop. A magic mirror transports visitors to an interactive story telling experience. With the help of Madame Wardrobe and other friends, participants play a leading role in the classic story.
Children get to act out the roles of enchanted characters with the use of props. When brought into Belle’s library, Lumiere comes to life helping guests with their roles to give everyone an enchanted experience. Each guest ends their time in Belle’s library with a photo opportunity, a unique bookmark from Belle, and a “Be Our Guest” sing along.
8. Mickey’s PhilharMagic
Disney animation uses 3D technology in Mickey’s PhilharMagic to bring classic Disney magic to life. Character favorites truly jump off the screen in this creative and fun attraction. As guests enter the theater, they are transported to Mickey’s concert hall as he prepares for an orchestra performance.
This film follows Donald Duck through a silly and twisted adventure with classic songs on a one hundred and fifty foot viewing screen. Ballads from Peter Pan, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Aladdin, and The Little Mermaid are featured in the twelve-minute musical movie filled with special effects and excitement at every turn.
9. Peter Pan’s Flight
Join Peter Pan on a trip to Never Land in this timeless attraction inside Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland. The adventure takes flight when guests step aboard a pirate ship sprinkled in pixie dust. After travelling over London, your magical ship journeys through Never Land where riders find Peter Pan battling with the infamous Captain Hook.
The Lost Boys are found here, as well as Tiger Lily, her Indian Village, and the mermaids of Mermaid Lagoon. Help Michael, John, and Wendy escape the plank and return to London before disembarking and returning to reality.
10. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
Pooh, Piglet, Tigger and other friends accompany you through the magical storybook world of Winnie the Pooh. Riding in a giant honey pot, travel through the pages of the Hundred Acre Woods. Each part of the adventure brings guests through a different page turning scene.
The Blustery Day theme invites guests to bounce along with Tigger, take a look inside Pooh’s dream world, and float through Floody Place Falls. You will encounter Woozles, Heffalumps, and winding adventure in this entertaining journey. Music, color, and special effects put the classic tales of Winnie the Pooh right in front of your eyes.
