Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is located along the waters of the Seven Seas Lagoon with a great view of Magic Kingdom! It’s themed to Polynesia, and you can feel it across every inch of this resort.
It’s also been open since the opening of Disney World in 1971!
Location
The Polynesian is located across the Seven Seas Lagoon from Magic Kingdom. It’s located on the Monorail line, between the Contemporary and the Grand Floridian Resorts.
Theming
This is a resort themed to the South Pacific and will make you feel like you’re in the islands! It has its own beach and is surrounded by tropical palms and lush vegetation.
The buildings are not all connected internally, so you will have to walk outside to get from the rooms to the main building where the lobby and restaurants are — the Great Ceremonial House. Speaking of the rooms, make sure you look out for some Moana theming in some of them!
Rooms
There are several room options available at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort! The Polynesian resort is home to regular rooms and suites, and villas that belong to Disney Vacation Club.

The rooms available come in a variety of views. The Standard Rooms sleep 5 people. Then, there are the Club Level rooms — they include access to concierge service at the King Kamehameha Club, complimentary health club access, personalized front desk and guest services, and secured key access to the club-level lounge, serving refreshments from 7AM to 10PM daily.

Club Level rooms include the Standard Room (5 people), 1 Bedroom Suite (5 people), Ambassador VP Suite (8 people), King Kamehameha Suite (8 people), and Honeymoon Room (2 people).

As for the Disney Vacation Club rooms, they only come in Deluxe Studio options, which sleep 5 people.

You can also stay in the bungalows over the water at the Polynesian! These are really special — they’re like the bungalows you would find in Polynesia and feature their own decks, views of Magic Kingdom, plunge pools, and so much more. They sleep up to 8 people!
The newest addition to the Polynesian is Island Tower.
This is a Disney Vacation Club property that has a variety of rooms and views, including the Deluxe Studio (4 people), Duo Studio (2 people), 1 Bedroom Villa (5 people), 2 Bedroom Villa (9 people), and 2 Bedroom Penthouse (8 people).
Transportation
There are several transportation options at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort! It’s a Monorail Resort so it’s located on the main monorail loop that will take you between the Polynesian, Grand Floridian, Magic Kingdom, the Contemporary, and the Transportation and Ticket Center.
If you go to the TTC, you can also take a monorail to EPCOT! Also note that you can walk to the TTC from the Polynesian pretty easily.
If you’d rather travel by sea, you can take a boat to Magic Kingdom straight from the docks of the Polynesian! This boat will also stop at the Grand Floridian.
Also know that you can walk over to the Grand Floridian and use the walking path to get to Magic Kingdom. Finally, you can take a bus from the front of the resort to Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, and Disney Springs.
Dining
Barefoot Pool Bar
The Barefoot Pool Bar is located at the Lava Pool and is open from lunch hours to late night. There are a variety of eats and drinks you can enjoy at the pool or around the bar!

Oasis Bar & Grill
Oasis Bar & Grill is the pool bar at the Oasis Pool. It has similar eats and drinks to the Barefoot Pool Bar!

Pineapple Lanai
Pineapple Lanai is the Dole Whip window outside of the Great Ceremonial House. It’s open almost all day and is a great place to get those classic Dole Whips, as well as some more exciting options!

Capt. Cook’s
Capt. Cook’s is the main quick service location at the Polynesian that serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and late night eats. You can find an assortment of sandwiches, salads, baked goods, breakfast items, and so much more!

Tambu Lounge
Tambu Lounge is the bar and lounge located right outside of ‘Ohana on the second floor of the Great Ceremonial House. It’s a great place to cool down while having a drink!
You can get a variety of cocktails and other beverages here, as well as a few Hawaiian-inspired appetizers. Here’s a look at the menu!
Kona Island
If you’re looking for a place to grab a coffee, check out Kona Island! This is also on the second floor of the main building, right next to Kona Cafe.
It’s open from the early morning to evening and serves coffee, pastries, and grab-and-go sushi. See the menu right here!
Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace
Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace is an outdoor tiki lounge with a walk-up order window near the Lava Pool. It has the same drinks and eats as Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto, but it’s a lot easier to access.

Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto
Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto is inside of the Great Ceremonial House and is an interactive tiki bar! It’s a popular spot to get tiki drinks and food, and the ambiance and bartenders really make this a fun time.
It’s open from the late afternoon to late at night, and you can see the menu here!
Kona Cafe
Kona Cafe is a table service restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner on the second floor of the Great Ceremonial House. It’s got an Asian twist on American meals as well as an onstage sushi kitchen!

Wailulu Bar & Grill
Wailulu Bar & Grill is the newest restaurant at the Polynesian, located at the bottom of the new Island Tower. It’s a restaurant with an outdoor bar that has a table service lunch and dinner.
This spot is serving up Polynesian cuisine and has great views of the Seven Seas Lagoon! Check out the menu here.
‘Ohana
‘Ohana is a table service restaurant open for breakfast and dinner on the second floor of the Great Ceremonial House. It’s a character meal for breakfast featuring Mickey, Stitch, and friends, and a regular meal for dinner with a musician walking around.

Pools
There are three pools at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort! The main one is the Lava Pool near the Great Ceremonial House.
The pool features a giant volcano, a waterfall, a play area, and a 142 foot-long waterslide! There is a zero-depth entry and a whirlpool spa.
The Oasis Pool is located near the Samoa and Hawaii Houses, nestled in a lush garden. This is an all-ages leisure pool that’s more relaxing and quiet.
You can also rent out one of the Oasis Patio spots where you’ll have a private shaded area close to the pool with cushioned lounge chairs, towels, and more.
Finally, we have the newest pool — the Cove Pool! This is at the Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows.
There is a zero-entry pool, or you can enjoy Moana’s Voyage at the splash pad featuring life-size sculptures of Moana and her iconic canoe.

BouTiki
BouTiki is the main gift shop located on the first floor off of the lobby. Here, you can find all kinds of Disney and Polynesian Resort-themed merchandise, including beachwear if you forgot yours!

Moana Mercantile is the store located upstairs above the lobby and has more items geared toward kids, as well as sundries, snacks, or other necessities you might need while staying a the resort.
