Let’s Go Inside a Standard Room at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
In the Spring of 2021, the resort rooms at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort received a massive refurbishment! This included both hard and soft furnishings with decor inspired by beloved Disney film Moana.
Our MickeyBlogger Kayla was recently at the Polynesian and decided to pop into one of the Standard Rooms to give us a look at how the refurbishment is holding up.
We’ll start with a look at the hallways leading to the guest rooms. The beige walls in the Polynesian Village Resort are decorated with panels featuring tropical blooms.
Also notice the carpet which gives is a tip-of-the-hat to stunning island textiles and lush gardens.
All of the room numbers feature an image of the Polynesian tiki.
Updates to the new guest rooms includes hard flooring. The standard rooms come with two queen beds.
The headboards are perfectly in keeping with the style of the Poly.
Hibiscus blooms on a throw pillow add a big splash of color to the queen beds.
All of the rooms feature a spacious closet with tribal-style doors.
There’s also a coffee station and if you look closely you’ll notice Moana character Hei Hei hidden amongst the blossoms.
The wall opposite the beds features ornate wallpaper. If you look closely you’ll find Maui and Moana!
The throw pillows on the sofa features a fun octopus design.
You’ll find marble countertops throughout the room.
Moana artwork adorns the walls in the standard rooms.
Benches at the end of both beds adds an extra bit of elegance.
We also love these side tables.
Event the lighting fixtures tie into that stunning island vibe.
The bathrooms feature a walk-in shower.
Guests will find shampoo, conditioner and body wash dispensers in the shower.
Double sinks with a larger mirror and stonework make for a family friendly space.
There’s also a separate water closet.
Smaller bottles of H2O+ toiletries are still available as well.
New to the Deluxe Rooms is also Disney Magical Companions.
These are essentially Amazon Echoes done Disney style.
You’ll find them in each of the rooms near the phones complete with Mickey Ears and bow-tie!
These companions have some pretty great functionality. You can use it as an alarm, get a weather forecast and kids will enjoy the storytimes and mini games available on the device.
As you can see from the screen above, you can also use Alexa for helpful services like checking your flight status.
Disney will also list park times and performance schedules on the device to help you plan your days!
We can wait to see these unveiled at more and more Disney properties.
We hope you enjoyed this quick look at the Polynesian Resort Standard Rooms.
