But for fans of Disney’s 2003 film Freaky Friday, things are about to get EVEN FREAKIER!
In case you missed it, Disney announced a sequel to the fan-favorite comedy back in 2023. Since then, stars Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan confirmed that they would return for the upcoming project.
In fact, soon-to-be Disney Legend Jamie Lee Curtis admitted to pushing Bob Iger for the sequel, and we couldn’t be more excited!
Last night at the Disney Entertainment Showcase, Disney announced the official title for the Freaky Friday sequel. Let’s check it out!
Let’s Get Freakier!
Officially titled Freakier Friday, the highly-anticipated sequel will see the return of Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan in their body-swapping mother-daughter dynamic.
The 2003 film was a remake of the original 1976 version starring Jodie Foster and Barbara Harris.
Curtis and Lohan appeared on stage last night during the announcement. “It’s more fun, it’s more emotional, and it’s all for you guys,” Curtis said of the sequel.
Original cast members Chad Michael Murray, Mark Harmon, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Lucille Soong, Haley Hudson, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Rosalind Chao are also set to return for the sequel.
We don’t know much about the plotline (or the release date) for the upcoming film, but we do know we’re SUPER EXCITED to see what Freakier Friday has in store!
