What Did Good Morning America Get Wrong about Jollywood Nights?
On the morning of Disney’s 100th anniversary, the hosts of Good Morning America celebrated the moment.
Unfortunately, the Disney employees got something wrong about their company’s own theme park party!
Here’s what GMA got wrong about Disney Jollywood Nights.
What Is Jollywood Nights?
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party always delights guests during the holiday season.
The after-hours ticketed event frequently sells out because guests love everything about the experience.
Walt Disney World’s problem is that it must limit attendance to ensure that all the paying customers have a great time.
Sadly, all the sellouts mean plenty of would-be party-goers cannot visit.
In 2023, Disney will solve this problem with a brand-new event, Disney Jollywood Nights.
Park officials have already posted plenty of details about Jollywood Nights, which starts on November 11th.
Two of the ten announced dates have already sold out, hinting that Jollywood Nights will prove just as popular as Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.
For this reason, Disney hasn’t really needed to hype the event much. Fans are already aware of it and quite interested.
What Did GMA Get Wrong about Jollywood Nights?
Despite this fact, GMA devoted a portion of its Disney100 celebration to a discussion about Jollywood Nights.
That’s an odd decision in and of itself. What happened next was that much stranger, though.
The GMA hosts and a Disney representative bantered about Jollywood Nights, and that’s when everything got weird.
For no apparent reason, the hosts kept stating that Jollywood Nights is an adults-only event.
I can assure you that this statement is incorrect. Kids are welcome at Jollywood Nights!
In fact, here’s a planDisney post from mid-June that reinforces this point.
Disney isn’t offering discounted tickets for children, which hints at the fact that it won’t be the kid-friendliest experience at the parks.
Parents seeking to entertain small children should probably pick Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party instead.
Then again, since both these events last until late in the evening, they’re not ideal for kids anyway.
That’s a different statement than saying children aren’t allowed, though.
If you’re a parent who was planning on taking a kid to Jollywood Nights, you’re fine! It’s fine!
GMA got this one wrong.
