Popular Star Wars Ride Ironically Closed on May the 4th
It may be Star Wars Day, but that doesn’t mean all things Star Wars are working properly in Disney World.
If you’ve ever visited Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney World or Disneyland, you may have ridden Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, an incredibly immersive and technologically advanced ride. But if you were expecting to celebrate Star Wars Day with a trip to the heart of the Resistance, you may be out of luck.
Rise of the Resistance is Closed
MickeyBloggers Ed and Jared visited Hollywood Studios bright and early this morning and found, sadly, that Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance was temporarily closed.
They arrived at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge around 8:30AM and found Cast Members standing in front of Rise of the Resistance, letting guests know that the ride was closed.
It’s not totally unusual for Rise of the Resistance to temporarily close from time to time, but it’s especially disappointing on Star Wars Day.
The ride was also labeled as temporarily closed within the My Disney Experience app.
As of 10AM, Rise of the Resistance was still closed, so we’re not sure when (or if) it will reopen today. Remember to check the My Disney Experience app before trekking all the way over there!
UPDATE: Around 10:30AM, Rise reopened with an 80-minute wait time.
