Is Disney’s Daredevil the Same as Netflix’s Version
Charlie Cox has officially returned to reprise his role as Daredevil. But, fans are wondering, is Disney’s Daredevil the same version as the one seen on Netflix?
Daredevil
Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil, is a superhero with unique powers. As a boy, he suffered from an incident that caused him to go blind.
Although he lost his sight, his other senses became heightened. Using his sonar-strong hearing to help him fight villains, he’s an attorney by day and a vigilante by night.
From Netflix To Disney+
Daredevil was a television series on Netflix that lasted three seasons. After Marvel Studios got the character’s rights back, the series came to Disney+.
Recently, Murdock was featured in the movie Spider-Man: No Way Home. He also made a few appearances in the television show, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.
With his character now part of the MCU, fans are curious if Disney’s Daredevil is the same as Netflix’s version. In a recent interview with ew.com, Charlie Cox set the record straight.
“It should be and it is always the same character. The difference is just like with people, we morph and change and are very different based on what’s going on in our lives.”
Cox goes on to explain that the show he did for Netflix was “very dark and gritty and heavy.” So far, his character portrayals for Disney have been “much more lighthearted and tongue in cheek and fun and witty and full of levity.”
While tones of the shows Daredevil has been featured in differ, it seems the core of the character remains the same.
Daredevil: Born Again
At this year’s San Diego Comic Con, Marvel Studios announced they would be doing a new series based on the superhero. Daredevil: Born Again will contain18-episodes and premiere on Disney+ in 2024.
Charlie Cox reprises his role as Matt Murdock and Vincent D’Onofrio returns to play Kingpin. Onofrio’s Kingpin recently appeared in the Disney+ series Hawkeye.
We can’t wait to see what Disney has in store with its upcoming series. After confirmations from Charlie Cox himself, fans can rest assured that Disney’s Daredevil is indeed the same version seen on Netflix!
