This is a very important Disney milestone as it marks the official return of the breakfast buffet!
Since Boma is the first location to reopen offering buffet dining at Walt Disney World, we thought we’d walk you through the process!
As you can see, Animal Kingdom Lodge is looking stunning as always this morning!
We had a 7:30 breakfast reservation and were among the first guests to arrive!
A partition was put in place until the restaurant was ready to reopen.
The restaurant was looking as beautiful as ever and the smells coming from the kitchen this morning were simply divine!
Cast members were hard at work prepping the buffet for our arrival!
Ones the doors opened, let’s just say the excitement from cast members was nothing short of magical!
There was lots of cheering and happy waves as we walked by the buffet for the first time.
This is also our first look at the amazing breakfast buffet spread!
Let’s just say our tummies were pretty rumbly!
Chef’s were out to greet us when we arrived.
And the servers were beyond excited!
Everyone was clapping and cheering! It was so much fun being a part of this special occasion.
Once at our seat the dining room itself was relatively empty!
Things did start to fill up as were were leaving though.
For those wondering about health and safety when it comes to the buffet here’s what you need to know.
There are signs posted near the buffet area letting guests know that face coverings must be worn at all times except when actively eating and drinking.
This includes the buffet line.
Team members are enforcing this policy.
Should you show up without a mask on, you will be asked to put one one. There’s also signage regarding cross contamination and advising what guests should due if you have food allergies.
But let’s talk about the real reason we’re here…the FOOD!
There were several stations at the buffet. Here’s a look at some of the items you’ll find including one of our favorites the sweet plantains!
The areas where neat and tidy with easy-to-reach serving utensils.
As you can see the buffet sections themselves sit underneath a plastic dome for protection.
There are several stations in the buffet area. Here’s a look at the new egg/omelet section. Omelets are NOW prepared in advance.
Above is another look at the omelets on offer.
All of our favorites were still at the buffet along with some newer, healthier options.
One such treat was the avocado terrine.
It was simple, delicious and refreshing on the palette!
Another of our early morning favorites today were the watermelon slices with pistachios.
Talk about yummy!
Some breakfast parfaits were available with fresh berries.
Below is a station serving up ham…
Along with some of the coolest deviled eggs we’ve ever seen.
The eggs came topped with salmon!
At the station you could also find regular hard-boiled eggs and an array of meats and cheeses!
Here’s a look at some of the delicious pastries guests have to choose from.
We couldn’t wait to try a few of these out with our morning cup of coffee!
Here’s a look at the spread featuring muffins, turnovers and more!
Guests could even enjoy bread pudding with a sweet warm pecan sauce!
We felt spoiled for choice!
This was one of the highlights of the buffet for us!
Just look at those cinnamon rolls.
It was hard for us to take just one!
Breads, bagels and croissants were also available.
As you can see, guests have an array of spreads to choose from including cream cheese and jam.
The cast members working the opening were awesome and engaging throughout our meal!
Oatmeal and various toppings make up another section of the buffet.
We enjoyed ours with banana chips and honey!
For those looking for savory items there were oak-grilled tomatoes, asparagus and more.
A small carver station was also available with delicious ham paired with a brown mustard sauce.
And finally, the reason that kids (of all ages) head hear for breakfast – the Mickey waffles!
We were in heaven with our early morning breakfast selections.
Here we are, masked up and pick up some of our favorite treats.
We made several trips to the buffet this morning starting with some continental breakfast options!
Let’s head back to the table for a look at our awesome spread! Now unfortunately the Pog juice, a Bona favorite wasn’t available. Our server said that it’s off the menu for now.
Here are the famous Mickey waffles and there’s also a Simba waffle. How cute is that!?
We also piled up a plate with more savory treats from sausages to tater tots!
It was an incredible experience and we were so excited to be back! We would definitely recommend a visit to Boma for either breakfast or dinner. Reservations are strongly recommended as Boma is a Disney-favorite and once word is out that it’s open we expect reservations to fill up fast.
