Obi-Wan Kenobi Set: Leaked Footage?
Are we seeing the future location of the Obi-Wan Kenobi set?
As the character said himself, “We must be cautious….”
And we will be, especially since the footage hasn’t been taken down. What exactly am I talking about?
Over the weekend, a TikTok video purporting to be footage from the set of the Disney+ show Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi hit the web.
Leaked Footage from Tatooine?
Take a look:

Of course, we’re hearing more and more about this show. Last week, we learned actual facts about the cast.
Joining the cast are Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie.
Hayden Christensen will also return to Star Wars via the new show.
Meanwhile, Deborah Chow will direct, with Kathleen Kennedy as executive producers and Michelle Rejwan, Chow, and Ewan McGregor producing. Joby Harold is the writer.
Kenobi Set: Informed Speculation
Of the footage, well, consensus and common sense say this is Tatooine. And, as has been explained in behind-the-scenes footage from The Mandalorian and Andor, the Star Wars creatives are using a spectacular array of sets, both digital and virtual, as well as locations for filming.
From a Star Wars fan’s perspective, it’s important to remember that Tatooine has more than one large city. Mos Espa was the in-universe locale of The Phantom Menace, Mos Eisley was the “hive of scum and villainy” (and Tosche Station was filmed and unused) in A New Hope, and we have seen other spots in the films, animation, and television show.
But screencaps show architecture and features not found outside of the berm in Anaheim or within Disney Hollywood Studios in Florida.
However, we’ve been burned by sets on desert planets before. Prior to being revealed as a set for Andor, one shooting location in England was supposedly from Obi-Wan.
That said, Lucasfilm confirmed that production will commence in April. So, seeing footage from the actual Obi-Wan set seems reasonable – from a certain point of view.
