Disney Cruise Line Cancels All Sailings Through March 2021
While I can’t wait for the day to report that Disney Cruise Line is sailing again, it appears that today is not going to be that day as they just confirmed that all cruises have been cancelled through March 2021. This also means that it will officially be over one year once since all four Disney Cruise Ships were sailing the waters with Guests on cruise vacations.
The official statement from Disney Cruise Line about the suspension of cruising through March 2021 that was sent to Travel Agents, reads as follows:
Our team at Disney Cruise Line remains focused on the health and well-being of our Guests and team members. We are currently preparing for a return to service following the guidelines issued by U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). As we continue to refine our protocols and await further technical guidance from the CDC, we are cancelling all sailings departing through March 2021.
We are offering affected Guests who have paid their reservation in full the choice of a 125% future cruise credit* to be used for a future sailings prior to May 31, 2022, or a full refund. The credit has automatically been added to your client’s account, and can be applied as a payment option when booking a new reservation. Guests that have not paid their reservations in full will automatically receive a refund of what they have paid so far.
Thank you for your and your clients’ patience and understanding during these times. We look forward to welcoming your clients aboard as soon as we can and making magic for them and their loved ones.
*The Future Cruise Credit (FCC) is equal to 125% of your clients’ original voyage fare plus the cost of the Vacation Protection Plan, if applicable. The FCC is only valid for sailings departing prior to May 31, 2022. Your clients’ original reservation must be paid in full to be eligible for the FCC. The FCC is applied per person and is non-transferable, non-refundable and has no cash value. Standard prevailing rates apply and Guests are responsible for any balance due after the FCC has been applied. If your clients end up not being able to use the FCC, they will be eligible for a refund up to the amount of their original voyage fare plus the cost of the Vacation Protection Plan, if applicable. Standard cancellation policies and terms and conditions apply to future sailings. Guests who previously received a FCC are not eligible for an additional FCC.
While cruises might be cancelled through March 2021, I am highly optimistic we might see Disney Cruise Line sailing again in April. We recently reported that Disney Cruise Line posted a job listing for a lifeguard position at Disney’s Castaway Cay which leads me to believe a return to cruising is imminent.
Let’s hope that this round of cancelled Disney Cruise Line sailings through March 2021 is the last one we will hear about and cruising will resume once again in April. Make sure to keep it here for all the latest!
