Disney Celebrates Its Successes and Looks Ahead at CineEurope
The Walt Disney Company made its triumphant return to CineEurope this weekend, where Disney Head of Global Theatrical Distribution Tony Chambers began the studio’s presentation by highlighting Inside Out 2′s historic box office debut.
The audience, which was largely made up of movie theater operators, roared with applause.

“Everyone doubled down on their efforts to make this an out-and-out hit and every single market, every single exhibitor, and every single partner across the globe delivered this weekend,” Chambers said.
A Trio of Marvel Films
Up next in the presentation was a 12-minute preview of Deadpool & Wolverine, which was introduced by Ryan Reynolds via video. The footage was reportedly the same clip that was shown to audiences at CinemaCon.

Costumes from the upcoming Deadpool film were also on display outside the theater, and Ryan Reynold’s Aviation Gin was served.
Marvel’s 2025 films Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts* were then highlighted. While footage of Captain America 4 was previewed, CineEurope only got a behind-the-scenes look at Thunderbolts*. This, perhaps, is due to the fact that the film just recently finished production.

‘Alien: Romulus’
Moving on from Marvel, director Fede Alvarez took the stage to introduce footage from the upcoming Alien: Romulus. Looking back on the film’s development, Alvarez recalled the beginning when the filmmaker was staring at a blank page and “faced with the terrifying and thrilling task to bring back to life one of the best sci-fi franchises ever created.”

Alverez promised that Alien: Romulus, which will hit theaters in August, will go “places where this franchise has never gone.”
Searchlight and ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’
Next up, Searchlight Head of International and Business Operations Rebecca Kearey took the stage. Still basking in the glow of the studio’s success with Poor Things, the Searchlight executive highlighted two upcoming films. The first was Rental Family, starring Brendan Fraser. The second is The Roses, starring Oliva Coleman and Benedict Cumberbatch.
