Former Disney CFO Christine McCarthy Joins Flutter Entertainment Board of Directors
Christine McCarthy, the former chief financial officer (CFO) of The Walt Disney Company, has been appointed to the board of directors of Flutter Entertainment.
The Dublin-based Flutter is the world’s largest online betting firm and owner of FanDuel.

McCarthy left The Walt Disney Company in June 2023 after a 23-year career. The Disney veteran had served as CFO since 2015 and was once considered a serious candidate to replace Bob Iger as CEO.
Why McCarthy Left Disney
While McCarthy was reportedly a driving force behind the ouster of Bob Chapek in November of 2022, she subsequently clashed with Iger about the future direction of the company.

Leaving Disney last year, however, the former CFO had nothing but good things to say about her time with the company.
“I am immensely grateful for the opportunity Bob provided me to serve as CFO of this iconic company and am proud of the work my talented team has done to position Disney to capitalize on the business possibilities that lie ahead,” McCarthy said.

McCarthy’s New Role at Flutter
Joining McCarthy at Flutter will be Robert “Dob” Bennett. McCarthy will serve on the firm’s Audit Committee, while Bennett will serve on the Risk and Sustainability Committee.
