REVIEW: One-Day-Only Polystarch Puffbread for May the Fourth at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
May the Fourth Be With You… and may our snack experiences get better from here!
We’re over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios for Star Wars Day, where this latest treat has proved to be a bit of a miss among our reporters. Fly with us to Galaxy’s Edge, and let’s go see what all the fuss is about!
Polystarch Puffbread
As it’s May the Fourth, Disney have been pulling out all the stops when it comes to celebrating the occasion, and of course that includes a range of commemorative treats!
So far, we’ve tried the popcorn, this weird biscuit thing and other inter-galactic goodies, but right now we’re here at the Milk Stand for another odd new item.
Named the “Polystarch Puffbread,” we can’t say that this treat has the tastiest-sounding title, but its colorful menu card being modeled so nicely by this Cast Member certainly caught our attention.
Costing $5.29, the dish consists of two colorful croissants, topped with a blue and green milk craquelin and served with a “yuzu-passion fruit-coconut” dipping sauce.
As they say, “when in Batuu”, so we obviously placed an order to try this out!
Croissants? Eh.
Ok, so this dish doesn’t look the most appealing. Which is strange, especially since Disney have just raised the bar when it comes to croissant standards!
But, what did our reporters think?
Unfortunately, this was a bit of a flop in our eyes.
While that three-flavor dipping sauce was fresh and fruity, our reporter noted that the pastries themselves tasted a bit stale and rather bland. They weren’t as appealing in real-life to those presented on the photo card, and didn’t really give us anything in the way of flavor. Oh dear!
So, unless you like your foods particularly plain, we’d suggest giving these a miss here at Galaxy’s Edge!
But, if you are wanting to sample these Polystarch Puffbreads, you’d best set your ships to lightspeed over to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. These will be available at the Milk Stand for today and today only!
Will you be giving them a try?
