Disney Files Construction Permit For Test Track 3.0
If you have been reading along here at MickeyBlog, then you know how excited we are about the planned reimagining of Test Track.
Originally announced at D23 last year, Disney and Chevrolet have been working hard on a third iteration of the fan-favorite EPCOT attraction.
While we don’t know a ton of details about Test Track 3.0, we do know that the new iteration of the attraction will take inspiration from the original World of Motion attraction.
EPCOT Center fans will fondly remember the park’s original transportation pavilion, which taught us that “it’s fun to be free.”
Test Track’s Closing Date
Earlier this month, Disney announced that the current version of Test Track will close on June 17, 2024. Along with the announced closure date, Disney also shared a new piece of concept art.
As you can see, Test Track’s canopy has been removed, and the pavilion once again resembles its original, iconic wheel shape.
Disney Files Construction Permit
With construction on the horizon, Disney filed a general construction permit for work on the Test Track pavilion.
While the new filing does not give a ton of information, it does name Coastal Steel Inc. as the contractor for the project. Longtime Disney fans should recognize that name, as Coastal Steel has worked on Disney projects for decades, including Expedition Everest, Disney’s Blizzard Beach, and even the Sorcerer’s Hat that used to loom over Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
While much of the upcoming Test Track 3.0 project remains a mystery, hopefully, as construction begins, we will learn more soon.
