One ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Star Would Be Happy To See the Series Revived
With the announcement earlier this year that the Netflix Defenders Saga was canon and Marvel shifting its focus on streaming, many have wondered if a revival of Agents of S.H.I.E.LD. could be in the cards.
For those who don’t remember, the popular Marvel series ran on ABC from 2013 through 2020. Created by Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon, and Maurissa Tancharoen, the series was a ratings hit, running for 136 episodes over its seven seasons.
While the series was billed as the first television show set in the MCU, its status within the wider universe has been unclear. The characters and events in the series have been largely ignored by the broader MCU, and most fans have treated the series as non-canon.
Jeff Ward Talks ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Revival
Should Marvel choose to revive Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in some capacity, Jeff Ward, who played Deke Shaw on the series, would be all too happy to return. He does, however, have one condition.

He would do it, “but only if he was in charge of S.H.I.E.L.D. Because that’s where we last left him, so he’d have to be in charge.”
A Key Member of the S.H.I.E.L.D. Story
Ward originally joined the cast of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in Season 5 as a recurring character. He was then promoted to the regular series for the sixth and seventh seasons, where Deke became a vital member of Coulson’s S.H.I.E.L.D. team and eventually became director of the organization.

“But, I would love to of course, I love S.H.I.E.L.D., it’s great. I love those people all so much, so yeah, it would be very special,” Ward continued.

Hopefully, should Daredevil: Born Again be a hit for Marvel, the studio will turn its attention back to the oft-forgotten Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
