Refurbishment Begins on Iconic Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! Marquee
Did you know? Every opening day attraction at the Disney-MGM Studios has been subsequently closed. When the park opened on May 1, 1989, it consisted of The Great Movie Ride, The Backstage Studio Tour, The Magic of Disney Animation, The Monster Sound Show, and Superstar Television. 35 years later, every one of those attractions is now gone.
That means that the oldest attraction operating at what is now Disney’s Hollywood Studios falls to Star Tours (which opened in July 1989) and the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! (which opened in August 1989).
While Star Tours has recieved periodic updates over the years, including the addition of a new Ahsoka scene just yesterday, the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! has remained largely unchanged.
The show has entertained audiences with its epic stunts, recreations of iconic scenes from Indiana Jones, and guest participation.
Work is Being Done on the Epic Stunt Spectacular Marquee
Today, when visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we noticed that some work is being done on the attraction’s iconic marquee.
As you can see, scaffolding was covering both the attraction’s name and the large image of Indiana Jones.
It looks like the work is relatively minor. If I had to guess, a new coat of paint was in order.
It is crazy to think how much has changed around the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! in the years that the attraction has been thrilling guests.
Hopefully, crews will wrap up soon, and the iconic marquee will once again loom high above Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
