Adrian Schiller, Who Starred in Disney’s Live-Action ‘Beauty and the Beast’, Has Passed Away
Adrian Schiller, the British actor who is perhaps best known to Disney fans for his portrayal of Monsieur D’arque in 2017’s Beauty and the Beast, has passed away. He was 60. His talent agency, Scott Marshall Partners, confirmed the sad news.
“He has died far too soon, and we, his family and close friends are devastated by the loss,” the statement read, per Independent. “A prodigiously talented actor, he had just returned from Sydney, where he had been appearing in The Lehman Trilogy and was looking forward to continuing the international tour in San Francisco.”
Schiller was born in London in 1964 and had had an acting career that spanned decades. Throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, he starred in RKO 281, A Touch of Frost (2000), My Family (2001), and Judge John Deed and Silent Witness (2007).
In 2017, Schiller starred as Monsieur D’arque, the proprietor of the insane asylum, in Disney’s live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast. He was also well known for his portrayal of Aethelhelm in Netflix’s The Last Kingdom.
Schiller’s Sister Pays Tribute to the Late Actor
At the time of his passing, Schiller had recently appeared in a theater production of The Lehman Trilogy in Australia.
Following the news of his death, Schiller’s sister, Ginny, paid tribute to him on the actor’s X account.
