Disney Now Using a Virtual Queue to Manage Crowds at EPCOT’s Annual Passholder Lounge
With the kickoff of Walt Disney World’s V.I.Passholder Days yesterday, there has never been a better time to visit EPCOT as a Walt Disney World Annual Passholder.
In addition to exclusive discounts, treats, and photo opportunities, EPCOT’s exclusive Passholder Lounge yesterday.
The Annual Passholder Lounge is located over in the Morocco Pavilion, in the former Restaurant Marrakesh.
The New Lounge Has Proven to be Popular
Offering Annual Passholders a place to relax, cool down, and even participate in exclusive character meet and greets, the new lounge has proven to be extremely popular.
We were able to get into the lounge right when it opened at 12:00 p.m. yesterday, but just an hour later, the queue to get in the door extended through the Morocco pavilion.
Well, I am happy to report that in order to make things easier for Annual Passholders, the new lounge is utilizing a virtual queue for when the new area reaches capacity.
How the System Works
After the lounge fills up, Annual Passholders waiting to get in can give their name and phone number to the Cast Member at the check-in station.
When it is their turn to enter the lounge, these guests will receive a text telling them to return to Restaurant Marrakesh.
This afternoon, our reporter waited about ten minutes until her return time came.
With free snacks and refreshments and the chance to meet with Genie, it is no wonder the Annual Passholder Lounge is popular.
It is good to see that Disney has a plan in place to manage the crowds!
