Sam Raimi Wants to Direct Marvel’s ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’
While Sam Raimi seems pretty adamant that Spider-Man 4 is not in development, that doesn’t mean that the director would not love to work with Marvel again.
After rising to fame in the superhero world for his Spider-Man trilogy in the early 2000s, Raimi finally made the jump into the MCU for 2022’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Infusing the film with his patented touch of horror, the second installment in the Doctor Strange franchise grossed just shy of $1 billion at the box office.

Due to his familiarity with Marvel’s characters and his past successes within the genre, many fans have speculated that Raimi could be asked to direct Avengers: Secret Wars. The film is set to bring together the Marvel multiverse in a way that has never been seen before.
Raimi Says He Would Love to Direct ‘Secret Wars’
At this year’s WonderCon, Raimi was asked about directing the Marvel cineamtic event, and interestingly he sounded open to the idea.
“I love 90% of the Marvel heroes that I’ve read in the great Stan Lee Marvel Universe comic books. I would love to work with Marvel again. They haven’t reasonably asked me to. I hope they had a good experience with me. They haven’t asked me yet. I hope they do.”

While it is perhaps a long shot that Raimi would get the opportunity to direct Secret Wars, he may be the man most qualified for the job.
For now, however, Marvel fans will have to wait and see.
