Baby Abdim’s Stork Has Hatched at Animal Kingdom
Could this baby chick be ANY cuter? The adorable baby Abdim’s Stork has hatched at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and is currently stealing hearts in Dinoland U.S.A.
Abdim’s Stork – also known as the white-bellied stork – is a species of stork that is native to the open habitats of Sub-Saharan Africa and Yemen.
The birds often make their nests in rocky terrain and feed on large insects like caterpillars and locusts. This little guy looks super small right now, but one day, he’ll also eat small amphibians, reptiles, crabs, and even mice and eggs.
As adults, Abdim’s Storks sport a signature look of black feathers, a blue face, and a distinctive red patch near the eye. This little guy doesn’t exhibit those features yet, but he’ll develop them as he grows older.
Make sure to keep your eyes peeled for Animal Kingdom’s latest addition on your next visit to Dinoland U.S.A.!
