WATCH: New Trailer For ‘The Acolyte’ Introduces Fans to the High Republic
The first trailer has finally arrived for the upcoming Star Wars series The Acolyte, and fans are understandably excited.
The new series will explore the era of the High Republic for the first time in live-action, bringing to life a time period where the galaxy was at peace and the Jedi Order was at the height of its power.
Unlike previous Star Wars series, however, The Acolyte will not be told from the perspective of a Jedi but a young Sith apprentice.
“In an age of light, a darkness rises,” the series’s tagline reads.
Introducing the High Republic
In the first clip of the long-awaited Star Wars series, fans can finally glimpse the High Republic. Both Lee Jung-jae’s Jedi Master Sol and Amandla Stenberg’s fallen Jedi padawan take center stage in the new trailer.
Amid scenes in the Jedi Temple, audiences are teased with plenty of lightsaber battles, Force usage, and philosophical debates about the nature of power.
Set approximately 100 years before the events of The Phantom Menace, according to Lucasfilm, the new series will tell the story of:
“An investigation into a shocking crime spree pits a respected Jedi Master (Lee) against a dangerous warrior from his past (Stenberg). As more clues emerge, they travel down a dark path where sinister forces reveal all is not what it seems.”
