Walt Disney Imagineering Files Permit Hinting at Set Installation in Storybook Circus
The Walt Disney Company has filed a permit for the “installation of show sets” in Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland, and we have an idea of what all the hubbub is about.
Back in July of last year, Disney announced a new interactive experience would soon be coming to Magic Kingdom, presented by Scentsy.
Smellephants on Parde
Titled “Smellephants on Parade,” the new experience will be a “family-friendly search and sniff adventure in Storybook Circus.”
While we don’t know a ton about the new experience, it will clearly be inspired by the iconic “Pink Elephants on Parde” scene from Dumbo.
Scentsy is, of course, the official Home Fragrance of Walt Disney World. The new Storybook Circus experience will be a part of a broader partnership between the two companies.
Construction Will Be Handled by Themeworks Inc.
Outside of the fact that new show sets will be installed, the permit does not give a ton of information.
What it does reveal is that Themeworks Inc., a frequent vendor of Imagineering, will be performing the construction. Themeworks recently worked with Imagineering on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.
With the permits now filed, we should see activity in Storybook Circus soon!
