This One Item Makes Jardin de Fiestas Worth a Visit at EPCOT’s Flower & Garden Festival
It’s the first day of the 2024 EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival and we’re here checking everything out! There are all kinds of entertainment, flower displays, activities, and more.
One of the biggest parts of any EPCOT festival is the food, and we’re on our way to try out a whole new menu in Mexico!
Jardin de Fiestas
Jardin de Fiestas is located right before you get to the Mexico Pavilion if you’re coming from the front of the World Showcase. This booth is usually a hit, so let’s see if it can keep its winning streak alive.
Almost everything on the menu over here is new to the festival! The only thing returning is a beer.
First up, we got the new Sope de Chilorio. This is guajillo pepper-braised pork on fried corn shells with black beans, shredded cabbage, crema Mexicana, queso fresco, and chives for $8.50.
We weren’t huge fans of this dish. The guajillo pepper-braised pork was on the spicy side and the corn shells were really tough, making it hard to cut through. It also just didn’t really have great flavors. We’d skip this one if we were you.
Next, we tried the new Tamale de Rajas. This is poblano peppers, corn, and cheese in masa topped with poblano cream sauce, crema mexicana, pickled carrots and onions with chives for $8.75.
Luckily, this was absolutely delicious! The inside had amazing flavor and went together well with the sauce on top. We would come back to the booth just for this item, it was that good!
Finally, we got the new Flan de Guayaba for $6.50. This is vanilla flan with guava coulis, whipped cream, and fresh fruit.
This was good, but it does have that very specific texture of flan that everyone might not be a fan of. It’s also vanilla, so the flavor isn’t too unique.
However, the guava sauce on top kicked it up a notch, and the fresh fruit made this pretty tasty!
Now for the drinks! This is the new Lychee Margarita for $14.50. It has Centinela Blanco Tequila, lychee liqueur, citrus juice, and agave nectar.
You definitely have to like Lychee in order to enjoy this one! Along with the citrus, it’s pretty tart, so that might catch you off guard. You can definitely taste the tequila as well, so if you don’t like strong drinks, we’d suggest you get something a bit more mild. But, if you do like tequila and want a unique drink, you should enjoy this!
There is also the new Floral Margarita over here for $14, which has cherry liqueur, mezcal, hibiscus tea, and lime juice. And, the Craft Mexican Draft Beer is back, which you can get for $6 for 6 oz and $11 for 12 oz.
Overall, we’d say the tamale is definitely the best thing we tried from here, and it’s worth visiting the booth just for that one item.
