Technical Difficulties Won’t Stop Florida Fresh at EPCOT’s Flower & Garden Festival!
It’s the first day of the 2024 EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival, and the whole park is simply bursting with beautiful blooms. Everywhere you look is filled with color and magic, radiating the joys of springtime like never before!
However, there’s one spot where the Florida festival is looking especially fresh, and it’s right here in the Odyssey Pavilion.
Get ready for some tasty treats, and keep reading for our full review of the most sunshine-filled booth at this year’s festival!
Hang on… what? The Odyssey Pavilion?
Florida Fresh
Yep, we’re here at Florida Fresh, where tasty flavors are a sunshine state of mind. Now, as you can see from our photos, the place is looking a bit…closed…right now. Apparently, they’re having a spot of technical bother.
But, not to worry!
Due to the issues, Florida Fresh has shimmied on over to the Odyssey Pavilion, budging resident kitchen Citrus Blossom up a notch to open to guests in a temporary spot for the time being. Hey, as long as we can get that delicious taste of sunshine today, we ain’t fussed where we eat it!
So, let’s check out the delicious menu…
Fresh Floridian Food
The first menu item is new this year, and it’s the Grilled Warm Water Lobster Tail, served with Key Lime Butter. This costs $11.25.
Now, we’re starting strong here, as our reporters loved this dish. It was cooked to perfection, and the unique taste of key lime butter complimented the fish beautifully. Our only gripe was that it could have been served a little warmer.
But, we’d definitely recommend you give this one a try when you’re next at the festival!
Next, it’s the Cubanito, with mojo-marinated pork belly, ham, swiss cheese, pickles, and stone-ground mustard sauce. This sandwich is also new at Florida Fresh for 2024, so we were eager to try it out!
This dish cost $6.50, and we have good things to say about it…and some not so good. Appropriately, we’ll share our thoughts in a compliment sandwich:
The Cubanito was filling. It was also a bit too salty for our tastes, and a tad on the dry side. But, there was plenty of meat and other filling, which we appreciated!
The last dish is a sweet one, and it’s a returning favorite we’re thrilled to see back on the menu for 2024.
Of course, it’s the Florida Strawberry Shortcake — a perfect treat to see EPCOT go from spring to summer in style!
This, as expected, was delicious. The shortbread itself was heavy, however, it wasn’t overly sweet and was lifted by the fresh strawberries and tasty cream beautifully. A perfect summer treat, in springtime!
It costs $5.
Better still, this dessert is actually plant-based — which we love — and is also a part of the Garden Graze Food Stroll this year.
Wonderful!
Beverages
If you’re looking to be quenched, you’ll want to consider the Cucumber-Watermelon Slushy here at Florida Fresh. Just how refreshing does that sound?
Better yet, the kitchen is also serving an alcoholic version of this slushy, which is spiked with a shot of gin. Boozy!
We tried the non-alcoholic version, which was extremely refreshing and perfectly made for a hot day. Surprisingly, it was a tad tart and leaned more toward the watermelon flavor than cucumber. We’d order it again though, for certain!
