Bob Iger to Answer Questions at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media and Telecom Conference
Ahead of the Walt Disney Company’s April 3 annual meeting, Bob Iger will participate in a question-and-answer session at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media and Telecom Conference on Tuesday, March 5, 2024.
The Disney CEO has been on a media blitz of late as Disney looks to fend off proxy fights from both Trian Investment and Blackwells. In addition to publically touting the company’s strong Q1 earnings, Iger has been unwavering in his support for the Disney board.
Earlier today, Disney released a Fact vs. Fiction document that rebutted many of the charges that Nelson Peltz has made against the Disney board. The latest public pushback from Disney came just one day after the board sent a letter to shareholders touting the company’s recent success.
Iger Has a Lot on His Plate
Outside of Peltz and Blackwells, Iger will likely be asked questions about the company’s recent struggles at the box office, profitability in streaming, and the future of ESPN.
Disney recently grabbed headlines when it unleashed a series of announcements. These included the creation of a new sports-centric streaming service, an investment in Epic Games, and the arrival of Taylor Swift on Disney+.
Still, those announcements and Disney’s strong earnings have not been enough to keep the activist investors at bay.
So, be sure to check back with MickeyBlog. We will be reporting back on any news that comes out of Bob Iger’s appearance at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media, and Telecom Conference. The presentation will begin at 1:15 p.m. ET.
