Prince Charming Regal Carrousel’s Canopy is SPARKLING as Refurbishment Continues
While perhaps not the most exciting attraction refurbishment going on at the Magic Kingdom, work is progressing on the repainting of the Prince Charming Regal Carrousel.
As we have previously reported, Disney is touching up the attraction’s iconic canopy, adding some new gold trimming to the ride, and generally sprouting everything up.
For those who don’t know, the Prince Charming Regal Carrousel is actually the oldest attraction in Disney World — it was originally constructed in 1917! While the Cinderella panels were obviously a later addition, the attraction remains a piece of both Disney and American history.
Today, when checking out the opening day attraction, we learned that work has continued to progress on the canopy, with some of the previously covered panels now revealed.
The Latest Update
As you can see, Disney has gone to painstaking detail to restore both the original canopy and the Cinderella panels.
The new gold trim is really sparkling!
While the parts of the canopy that have been finished look amazing, other sections remain unpainted.
Scrims also continue to cover parts of the canopy that are still being worked on.
Finally, on the outside of the attraction, the purple railing is being repainted!
Wet paint signs are peppered around the stroller parking area.
The Attraction Remains Open
While a simple repainting of the Prince Charming Regal Carrousel likely won’t grab headlines, I am thrilled to see the classic Magic Kingdom attraction getting some love.
The ride will remain operational throughout the refurbishment. Hopefully, the entire attraction will look brand new before we know it!
