‘The Fantastic Four’ Will Feature an Iconic Marvel Villain — But It’s Not Who You Think
As if the news that Marvel was finally revealing who will be playing The Fantastic Four in the iconic team’s MCU debut wasn’t exciting enough, we may now have an idea who the 4 will be going toe-to-toe with.
While Doctor Doom seemed like the obvious choice to fill the role of The Fantastic Four’s main antagonist, according to Jeff Neisder at The InSneider, Marvel is planning on pitting The Fantastic Four against Galactus.
The planet-devouring cosmic entity is not only one of The Fantastic Four’s most famous adversaries but one of the biggest threats in Marvel lore.
The Silver Surfer Is Coming
If Sneider’s report is correct, we will not only be seeing the introduction of Galactus to the MCU but also his herald, the Silver Surfer.
The Silver Surfer, of course, was the main antagonist in 2007’s Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. While the cosmic hero was presented as a villain in the film, he has traditionally been a hero.
As previously reported, Marvel Studios is eying Javier Bardem to portray Galactus while casting for the Silver Surfer is still underway.
What About Doctor Doom?
While Doctor Doom will not serve as the primary antagonist in The Fantastic Four, according to Schnieder, the villain will appear at the end of the film.
Perhaps Marvel is setting Doom up for a bigger role in Avengers 4 and Avengers: Infinity War.
The highly anticipated arrival of The Fantastic Four will happen on July 25, 2025, when the first family of Marvel finally arrives in the MCU.
