WATCH: Patrick Mahomes Shouts “[I’m] Going to Disneyland!”
After securing their third Super Bowl in the last five years, the Kansas City Chiefs are going to Disneyland!
In fact, just minutes after winning his third Super Bowl MVP, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was asked what he was going to do next.
With his wife, Brittany and their two children by his side, Mahomes uttered four of the most famous words in sports- “[I’m] going to Disneyland!”
A Celebratory Disneyland Parde is Planned
Less than 24 hours after their historic win, Mahomes and his Chiefs teammates are being whisked away to Disneyland, where they will appear in a celebratory parade today at 2:00 pm PT.
According to Disney, the cavalcade will travel from “it’s a small world” in Fantasyland all the way to Main Street, USA.
A Disney Tradition
As is tradition, following the game’s conclusion, Disney released a new commercial featuring Mahomes proudly stating that “[he’s] going to Disneyland.”
The tradition of superstar players celebrating their Super Bowl victories goes back to 1987 with Phil Simms. Over the years, both the phrase “I’m Going To Disneyland” and the commercials produced by Disney have become iconic.
This year, the “I’m Going to Disneyland” commercial starring Mahomes will air on TV and social media platforms in English and Spanish.
Traditionally, when the Super Bowl is held on the West Coast, players will go to Disneyland the next day. If it is on the East Coast or the South, they travel to Walt Disney World.
With this year’s game being held in Las Vegas, Nevada, Mahomes and his teammates will be whisked off Disneyland.
