Walt Disney World Wait Times for Second Week of February 2024
How was your Super Bowl? I hope your team won! And if they didn’t, I hope you at least enjoyed the commercials.
Well, the thing about a Super Bowl is that once it’s over, the winners go to Disney.
Typically, the parks experience increased attendance the following Monday and even a little bit on Tuesday.
However, that’s next week’s consideration. For this week, the parks should have been about the same as last time.
Was that the case? Let’s find out! Here are Walt Disney World’s wait times for the second week of February 2024.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
If you missed last week’s article, the gist is that two parks were up and two were down with their wait times.
More remarkably, the overall change last week was…zero. That’s a rare occurrence.
So, we can safely conclude that the crowds in early February were roughly the same as those in the final week of January.
Did we experience an uptick during February’s second week? I would expect one, but let’s find out.
Here are Animal Kingdom’s average wait times:
- Avatar Flight of Passage – 115 minutes, down 1
- Na’vi River Journey – 78 minutes, no change
- Adventurers Outpost – 58 minutes, no change
- Expedition Everest – 54 minutes, up 6
- Kilimanjaro Safaris – 51 minutes, up 5
- DINOSAUR – 35 minutes, down 1
- It’s Tough to Be a Bug! – 15 minutes, no change
- TriceraTop Spin – 13 minutes, no change
Overall, the park averaged a wait of 54 minutes, which is one minute more than last week…and still on the high end here.
Generally, we’d like to see average wait times in the low- to mid-40s here, but the lack of Kali River Rapids as an option is having an impact.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Similarly, one of the most popular attractions at Hollywood Studios will be down for a while.
During busy weeks, Hollywood Studios typically averages 60-minute waits at seven attractions.
One of them, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, will be down for a few months.
So, that increases the average wait everywhere else in the park since those tourists must go somewhere else.
Here are the average wait times at Hollywood Studios last week:
- Slinky Dog Dash – 115 minutes, up 7
- Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance – 92 minutes, down 5
- Twilight Zone Tower of Terror – 76 minutes, up 6
- Toy Story Mania! – 69 minutes, down 2
- Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run – 68 minutes, up 1
- Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway – 66 minutes, down 5
- Red Carpet Dreams – 46 minutes, down 1
- Alien Swirling Saucers – 44 minutes, up 2
- Celebrity Spotlight – 25 minutes, no change
- Star Tours – The Adventures Continue – 19 minutes, no change
- Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy – 15 minutes, no change
- Muppet*Vision 3D – 10 minutes, no change
Overall, guests waited for an average of 49 minutes per attraction, which is one minute more than last time.
So, we do have a slight uptick so far this week, but it’s extremely modest.
EPCOT
Believe it or not, we’re down to the final week of the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts!
That’s the thing about a five-week event. It’s over fast!
So, I’d expect a bit of an increase in EPCOT traffic during the upcoming week as fans try to eek out a few more experiences.
But how were the crowds this past week? Here are EPCOT’s average wait times:
- Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure – 87 minutes, down 6
- Frozen Ever After – 83 minutes, no change
- Test Track – 75 minutes, up 4
- Soarin’ Around the World – 57 minutes, up 2
- Royal Sommerhus – 42 minutes, down 3
- Mission: SPACE – 23 minutes, no change
- Spaceship Earth – 22 minutes, down 2
- Turtle Talk with Crush – 20 minutes, up 1
- The Seas with Nemo & Friends – 17 minutes, down 3
- Journey into Imagination with Figment – 16 minutes, no change
- Living with the Land – 15 minutes, down 3
- Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros – 14 minutes, down 1
Overall, the park’s attractions averaged a 38-minute wait, one minute less than last time.
Magic Kingdom
Okay, we’ve got a clear message thus far that wait times are generally about the same, albeit slightly up for the most part.
So, we’ve got one other park to check. Here are Magic Kingdom’s wait times:
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train – 91 minutes, up 2
- Peter Pan’s Flight – 71 minutes, up 1
- Space Mountain – 71 minutes, up 5
- Jungle Cruise – 65 minutes, up 2
- Big Thunder Mountain Railroad – 54 minutes, down 1
- Haunted Mansion – 53 minutes, up 2
- Princess Fairytale Hall – 46 minutes, down 1
- Town Square Theater – 45 minutes, down 2
- Pirates of the Caribbean – 44 minutes, up 3
- Ariel’s Grotto – 43 minutes, down
- Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin – 43 minutes, up 2
- The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh – 42 minutes, down 4
- Astro Orbiter – 38 minutes, up 3
- Pete’s Silly Sideshow – 38 minutes, down 3
- Enchanted Tales with Belle – 36 minutes, down 1
- The Barnstormer – 33 minutes, up 1
- Dumbo the Flying Elephant – 33 minutes, up 3
- It’s a Small World – 32 minutes, up 1
- Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid – 32 minutes, up 1
- Magic Carpets of Aladdin – 29 minutes, up 2
- Tomorrowland Speedway – 24 minutes, no change
- Mad Tea Party – 20 minutes, no change
- Walt Disney World Railroad – 20 minutes, up 1
- Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover – 18 minutes, down 1
- Mickey’s PhilharMagic – 17 minutes, down 1
- Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor – 15 minutes, up 1
- Prince Charming Regal Carrousel – 15 minutes, down 1
- Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress – 5 minutes, no change
Final Thoughts
Overall, guests at Magic Kingdom waited an average of 35 minutes per attraction, two minutes more than last time.
So, three of the four parks experienced wait time increases, but they were all modest.
I think it’s fair to say that crowds increased slightly during the second week of February.
Soon, we’ll experience an increase due to Super Bowl parades, Valentine’s Day, President’s Day, and the 2024 EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival.
In other words, we’ve just finished the calm. Now, we’re gradually heading toward the storm, which ends with Spring Break.
