Jonathan Majors Accused of Abuse by Several Women
As Jonathan Majors waits to hear what his sentence will be for assaulting and harassing his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari, several women have come forward and accused the embattled actor of abuse.
Following the December verdict, Majors continued to maintain his innocence, telling Good Morning America that he has “never struck a woman.”
A new report from the New York Times, however, contradicts Majors’s statements and paints a very different picture of the actor’s past.
Majors Has a History of Abuse
In a collection of pretrial statements to the prosecution and interviews, the Times has revealed that Majors’s former girlfriend, Emma Duncan, accused Majors of emotionally and physically abusing her.
Majors allegedly choked, threw around, and bruised Duncan. Another victim, Maura Hopper, says that the actor emotionally abused her.
Both Duncan and Hooper are actresses who dated Majors before he became famous. The Times characterized Majors as a “controlling, threatening figure who isolated them from friends and career pursuits.”
“You lose your sense of worth,” Duncan said.
Trouble on Set
In total, the Times article was based on interviews with 20 people and statements submitted to the prosecution.
According to the report, Majors also had a history of volatility on the set of Lovecraft Country that included confrontations with female co-workers. These spats reportedly led them to complain to the network.
As things stand, Majors is currently facing up to a year in jail. Following his conviction, he was also fired by Marvel Studios.
The actor’s attorneys have not responded to the latest allegations.
