Dave Bautista Would Love to Work With James Gunn Again
While both James Gunn and Dave Bautista are officially done with the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), a Guardians of the Galaxy reunion could be in the works over at DC.
Following his successful run with the Guardians franchise, James Gunn was tapped by DC to head a relaunch of its own cinematic universe.
Bautista, meanwhile, has made it clear that his days of playing Drax the Destroyer are over. Still, the actor admits that he would jump at the chance to work with Gunn again.
“I haven’t talked to James about the DC Universe. But, I would love to work with James again, whether it’s DC Universe or not. I just love James Gunn. He’s an incredible director and we have a camaraderie that’s priceless. So to work with him again? I mean I’d do it for free,” Bautista said.
Bautista Has Long Expressed His Love For Gunn
Bautista’s admiration for Gunn is no secret. The actor has even famously said he would not continue his role as Drax without Gunn’s involvement in the Guardians franchise.
Still, Bautista made it clear that he has not talked to Gunn about a DC role.
“But we just haven’t had the conversations,” he explained. “He’s on top of DC now. He’s doing his thing. I’m trying to grind along in my processing. But I’m always open-minded too and I’ve expressed that to him.”
A Guardians of the Galaxy Reunion?
Interestingly, Zoe Saldana has also recently talked about her openness to working with Gunn again, perhaps in the DC Universe.
If the stars properly align, then perhaps we will see something of a Guardians of the Galaxy reunion in the DC Universe.
