Star Wars Lightsaber Stations are Now Do-it-Yourself!
One of the coolest and most unique experiences at Star Wars: Galaxy Edge is the opportunity to build your own lightsaber.
Star Wars fans across the galaxy can defend the force when they create their own lightsaber in this unique experience.
Previously, guests would partner with a Cast Member to assemble their new purchase, but our team noticed one small update on our most recent visit: the stations are now do-it-yourself.
New Update
There are two locations in Disney’s Hollywood Studios where you can create your lightsaber and defend the force: Tatooine Traders (next to Star Tours) or Savi’s Workshop (in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge).
Savi’s Workshop is a highly curated and more costly “workshop” experience that is extremely popular. It is also recommended to make a reservation in advance.
Tatooine Traders is another great option and offers a more flexible and cost-effective alternative. Our team stopped by this merchandise location and noticed this update earlier today.
Do you remember the original station? First, you would let a Cast Member know you wanted to purchase and build the lightsaber.
There used to be a long table where a Cast Member would then help you build the lightsaber.
Now you walk up and can do it yourself. Cast Members are still there to assist the experience and answer questions, but you now assemble everything on your own.
We have no specific details on why this has changed, but we are excited to dive in and customize our lightsaber. What do you think of the new change?
Be sure to stay tuned and follow along with MickeyBlog updated on this and all things Disney.
