Cast Event
As MickeyBlog previously reported back in November, Magic Kingdom has always been set to close early on this particular evening, Monday January 29th. This is due to the annual Walt Disney World Service Celebration event, held to honor the hard working Cast Members, particularly those celebrating a special milestone within the company.
It sounds like a fabulous celebratory event, and we’re sure a magical time will be had by all those lucky enough to be in attendance!
Closing Early
So, how is this going to affect guests today?
Well, it has been confirmed that the park will be closing at 4.30pm tonight. Upon arrival at the Transportation & Ticketing Center this morning, our MickeyBlog reporters were met with the following A-frame boards, advising all of the update:
Of course, with the earlier closing time, this does mean that the regular night-time fireworks performance of “Happily Ever After” will not take place tonight.
This being said, the afternoon “Festival of Fantasy” parade is still scheduled to take place at 3pm.
Seeing as the Magic Kingdom usually closes between 9 and 11pm during the winter months, this early time is quite the difference!
However, it is worth noting that this Wednesday, January 31st will see extended evening hours available in the park, from 11pm-1am.
If you’re heading to Magic Kingdom today, be sure to take into account this closure and how it might affect your plans. Otherwise, we hope you have the most magical day!
