Disney’s Most Watched Streaming Movies of 2023
Which shows do you think are the most popular ones on Disney+?
Well, we’ve got a good idea now as several end-of-year charts have started rolling in.
Here are Disney’s most-watched streaming programs, according to JustWatch.

In early January, we discussed the most popular Disney streaming programs of 2023.
The Nielsen streaming ratings were the primary source for that data, although I also factored in a few other services.
Recently, another streaming tracker, JustWatch, was kind enough to share their 2023 data.

Who is JustWatch? Realistically, you’ve probably used the service, whether you’re a diehard fan or not.
Have you ever searched to discover which streaming service offers a specific television series or film?
If so, you likely viewed JustWatch as one of the primary search results.
Over the years, the company has created its own streaming tracker, empowering it to know what’s hot across all streaming services.
JustWatch indicates that it collated “data from 40 million monthly unique users across 140 countries and +500 streaming services.”
So, their end-of-year list is relatively robust and plausible.

For those of you who read my weekly Nielsen streaming ratings, you’re aware that I feel strongly that no service is totally accurate.
That’s a technical impossibility in the digital world.

However, people have trusted the accuracy of Nielsen ratings for generations now.
Services like JustWatch provide similarly reliable data based on viewer behavior.
Which Disney Streaming Programs Excelled?

JustWatch was thoughtful enough to reach out to MickeyBlog and provide insights on their 2023 data.
Suffice to say that Disney enjoyed an excellent year on streaming.

According to JustWatch, “Disney+ had the most streamed original titles on the list with The Little Mermaid, Avatar: The Way of Water, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.”
I’ll note that two of those titles align with Nielsen’s ratings, which also indicated that Avatar 2 and GotG 3 performed well.

The surprise is The Little Mermaid, which Nielsen didn’t favor as much during the early days of the film’s Disney+ availability.
While the news doesn’t help Disney+, Disney also scored a win with Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
The second Spider-Verse film comes from Sony, but Spider-Man remains a Disney product.

This beloved character’s latest film finished second overall on the streaming movie charts for 2023, trailing only The Super Mario Bros. Movie.
I should add that while JustWatch monitors 140 countries, this data applies to United States viewers.

As a reminder, Netflix claimed roughly 77 million North American subscribers in 2023 compared to Disney’s estimated 50 million.
So, the fact that Disney claims the most titles on this list is extraordinarily impressive.

JustWatch also provided a list of its Top Ten TV Shows on streaming last year.
Two Disney-owned series placed on this list, with The Mandalorian at number seven and Hulu’s The Bear at number eight.
