Freaky Friday is available to view on Disney+ – both the 2003 version starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsey Lohan and the 1976 original with Jodie Foster and Barbara Harris.
The Haunted Mansion
In 2023, we’ll finally get to see the new movie version of The Haunted Mansion.
The new movie is directed by Justin Simien, known as the writer and director of the TV series Dear White People.
Justin’s IMDB profile also tees up that he’ll be directing episode 1 of Lando – a limited series in early development for Disney+!

Movie plot
The plot of the movie, per IMDB is:
A single mom named Gabbie hires a tour guide, a psychic, a priest, and a historian to help exorcise their newly bought mansion; after discovering it is inhabited by ghosts.
Stars in the movie include Rosario Dawson as Gabbie, Winona Ryder, Dan Levy, Jared Leto as the Hat-Box Ghost, Owen Wilson, Tiffany Haddish, LaKeith Stanfield and Danny DeVito.
Writers include the legendary Guillermo del Toro, who is known for writing Pan’s Labyrinth, The Shape of Water and the other Pinocchio coming out on Netflix this December.
IMDB trivia suggests this has been a concept of Guillermo del Toro’s since 2010.

“There was something about that ride that I felt was there in the script,” Simien told the audience at D23 Expo, “I wanted to be sure all the Easter Eggs are there because I’m a nerd.”

“I used to work here! I actually worked at Disneyland, y’all,” Simien said. “It was the best summer job I ever had. I used to ride the Haunted Mansion on breaks.” The D23 audience saw a new trailer which was not released to the public.
At D23, Disney announced that The Haunted Mansion will hit theaters on March 10, 2023.
