What Will Disney Be Like in June 2024?
Let’s be realistic about Walt Disney World vacations.
For most consumers, the time you’re most likely to visit is the summer.
That’s when kids are on summer break, and families can more easily plan longer vacations.
So, what will Disney be like in June 2024? Well, it’ll be delightful…but crowded.
Visiting Disney in June
In recent years, a new phenomenon has evolved at Walt Disney World.
Historically, July was the most crowded month of the year.
Although school years have run longer than ever, June has matched and sometimes even surpassed July.
In my Disney wait times articles in 2023, two of the five most crowded months of the year occurred in June.
Meanwhile, the lack of July 4th crowds placed Disney on the defensive regarding its attendance.
We later confirmed that the snafu involved the calendar configuration of July 4th falling on a Tuesday.
Plus, that entire week was the hottest on record for planet Earth.
Maybe that aspect has altered the perception of when people should visit Walt Disney World. So, let’s talk specifics.
Let’s Talk about June Weather at Disney World
The answer here is nuanced.
Central Florida is obviously hot and sometimes humid in June…but it’s nowhere near the level of July.

Also, a predictable pattern typically unfolds. June grows hotter later in the month.
So, if you’re worried about the weather, you should plan to travel earlier in June than later.

Of course, parents with school-aged children don’t get to decide that for themselves.
Instead, the end of the school year will determine your visitation dates. Don’t worry, though.

Disney
MickeyBlog offers plenty of tips on how to stay chill on the hottest days.
Still, you’re probably here for the data. Here’s what you need to know.

Disney
Central Florida’s average high temperature in June ranges from 83 to 94 degrees.
If you’re unfamiliar with the south, 83-degree weather isn’t bad at all, but 94 degrees…can be trying.

That’s an important caveat since the average high is 89 degrees, putting it right on the cusp of what I consider hot.
Meanwhile, the average low temperature hovers between 68 and 77 degrees.

On most dates, you can safely expect a high of 89 and a low of 75.
Also, I can tell you from experience that the upper 70s is ideal Disney weather.

Rain in Magic Kingdom
Nature is also healing when it comes to Florida weather. The cloudy days of the year mercifully come on the hottest ones.
According to WeatherSpark, the hottest day of the year is July 6th.
In June, clouds should be non-existent early in the month, but you’ll find cloudy skies during the second half.
Of course, clouds often bring rain, so you’ll likely need an umbrella in late June.
What Will You Find at Disney World in June?
The good news is that Disney understands its target audience.
While the parks don’t really have an off-season now, peak season is VERY real.

EPCOT
Park strategists work hard to ensure that all the E-ticket attractions are up and running during the summer.
Meanwhile, the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival should be open every day in June.
Disney hasn’t confirmed the end date yet, but it occurred in early July in 2023. That’s my expectation for 2024 as well.
So, you’ll have all the time you want to explore the new additions at EPCOT.

Journey of Water
Since last year’s event, EPCOT has added character greetings for Moana and Figment, plus a new attraction and themed land.
The attraction is Journey of Water | Inspired by Moana, and the new themed land is World Celebration Gardens.

Journey of Water –
CommuniCore Hall & Plaza should open by June as well.
What do all these new spaces have in common? They encourage guests to hang out, making them ideal places during a festival.
That’s the whole point here. Walt Disney World features more interconnectivity than ever. It’s one big neighborhood for Disney fans.
You’ll love exploring the parks, but Disney has added features allowing you to relax for a change.
What Else Can You Do in Orlando in June?
Ordinarily, I emphasize live sports when discussing Orlando entertainment options.
However, the entertainment choices in June are among the best I’ve ever seen.

Broadway fans have their pick of touring productions of Clue or Les Misérables.

Disney Legend Jodi Benson is also starring in a performance of Hello, Dolly!
Then, we have the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra playing music from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1.
The Central Florida Community Arts group will also host its version of Hooray for Hollywood.
Finally, parents of Bluey-addicted kids can catch the live show.

Walt Disney Theater will host Bluey’s Big Play in mid-June.
Those are many great options on top of the thriving concert scene.

Speaking of which, the Rolling Stones (!) play their final concert in Orlando on June 3rd.
So, that’s reason enough to visit in early June! You can combine Disney with Keith Richards, the father of Captain Jack Sparrow!

Final Thoughts
There’s a reason why June has become arguably the most crowded time of the year at Walt Disney World.
The start of summer signifies one of the best times to visit.

Somehow, Disney has improved the parks substantially from just last year.
We’ve got new changes in the offing as well. For instance, the updated show of Country Bear Jamboree should open by June.

So, you’ll find more to do than ever when you visit Walt Disney World in June 2024.
