Flamingos Relocated for Construction in Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Disney’s Animal Kingdom is home to a vast array of amazing animal species.
From adorable cotton-top tamarins to graceful flamingos, the park is famous for its incredible creatures and curious critters.
But on a recent trip to the park, our team noticed one glaring absence in Animal Kingdom’s avian lineup.
Let’s investigate!
The Case of the Missing Flamingos
Famous for their stilt-like legs and bright pink feathers, the flamingos at Disney’s Animal Kingdom are a popular and beloved attraction for many park guests.
But if you were hoping to see them on your next visit to the park, it appears you’ll need to wait a few weeks.
According to informative Disney Cast Members, the flamboyance has been temporarily moved backstage while crews work to improve and update their habitat.
If these elegant feathered friends hold a special place in your heart, don’t fret! MickeyBlog reporters confirmed that the flamingos are expected to return to their freshly updated home within the next week or two.
Where to Find Flamingos at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
When the flamingos return, you can visit them at their habitat directly across from Island Mercantile.
You’ll find the pathway to the viewing area just before the entrance to Otter Grotto.
In the meantime, if you’re visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom and need a flamingo fix, you’re not out of luck! For a glimpse of this distinctly dazzling bird, head on over to Kilimanjaro Safaris, where you’ll enjoy animal sightings and a healthy dose of adventure!
You’re sure to spot our fancy feathered friends, along with a variety of other species including giraffes, elephants, ostriches, and bongos.
