While season 2 of What If…? brought us stories involving Nebula, Gamora, Captain Carter, Hela, and Kahhori, the third season of the series is expected to introduce even more characters.
Marvel Looks Ahead To ‘What If…?’ Season 3
In a tweet from Marvel thanking fans for watching What…If? season 2, the studio released images from the upcoming third season, giving fans a preview of what’s to come.

Perhaps the most exciting image released by Marvel features Sam Wilson in his Captain America uniform.
While Sam Wilson has assumed the Captain America mantle for years, he has yet to debut in animation. Because of how What If…? is produced, the team behind the series was unsure if season 2 would air before or after Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Now, What If…? can explore the character further.

The second image released by Marvel features a giant Captain America Iron Man suit.
Perhaps more exciting is the image that shows The Winter Soldier and a young Red Guardian. It looks like we will finally get more information on the latter’s backstory.

A second image shows Giant-Man (Hank Pym?) holding Red Guardian upside down.
