Hopping from the Star Wars galaxy to the Doctor Who “Whoniverse” sure sounds like a dream expedition, and a new report has indicated that one actor may be making this exact switch this year!

In an article published by Variety, actress Varada Sethu will reportedly be stepping into the role of the Doctor’s companion from season 15, opposite the current new Doctor Ncuti Gatwa.
Sethu will be recognized among fans for her work in the Disney+ Star Wars show Andor, where she played tough rebel warrior Cinta.

Now, jumping from one Disney+ canon to another, we can expect to see Sethu boarding the TARDIS in Doctor Who in its 15th season, which is currently in production.
Of course, this news comes very early, as the 14th season of Doctor Who is yet to hit our screens. Dropping in May on Disney+, this season will see Millie Gibson continue her role as companion Ruby Sunday, after having been introduced to the show along with Gatwa in the 2023 Christmas Special.

If this fun, extended Disney fandom crossover wasn’t enough, we also learned last year that Frozen star Jonathan Groff will also make an appearance in the show. If you missed favorite Neil Patrick Harris’s stint as a villain in the recent special episodes that aired last year, we’d recommend you catch up on those, too!

At present, we’re still waiting on an announcement for the second season of Andor, which has not appeared on Disney’s release schedule for 2024.
