Scrim and Netting Removed From Jungle Cruise’s Cambodian Temple
After over 50 years of delighting guests with its exotic sights, atmospheric scenes, and punny jokes, the Jungle Cruise remains one of the most popular attractions at the Magic Kingdom.
While everyone has their own favorite scene on the attraction, mine has always been the Shir Lee Temple.

Entering the cavernous temple is one of the true “wow” moments on the attraction, and the place where the Jungle Cruise’s story rises above its reliance on jokes and reaches the heights of Disney’s best dark rides.
Scrim and Netting Were Added to the Temple
After 50 years, however, the Shir Lee Temple has seen better days. In October 2023, the interior and exit to the Cambodian shrine were covered in netting and scrim after years of being worn down by the attraction’s boats.
While the scrim and netting looked fine, the grandness of the temple’s exit was lost.
According to reports, nothing had broken off the walls, but Disney wanted to cover its bases and make sure no further damage occurred.
The Netting Has Been Removed
Well, I am happy to report that over three months after the netting appeared, it has now been removed.
Once again, the temple welcomes guests with an air of mystery and danger that makes it so great.
Here is a look at the now scrim-less walls.
The shrine’s exit is also once again uncovered.
