BREAKING NEWS: Kilimanjaro Safaris Remains Closed At Disney’s Animal Kingdom
If you’ll be spending the day at Animal Kingdom on this Friday afternoon then there’s a closure that you’ll want to be aware of. According to our sources, Kilimanjaro Safaris in, in the Africa section of the park is currently closed to the public.
As you can see, rather thank just being a closure showing up under wait times, there’s actually a message from Disney VP Sarah Riles discussing the closure. The message says that Kilimanjaro Safaris are currently unavailable and cast members are working to get the attraction up and running.
For those unfamiliar, Kilimanjaro Safari takes place on 110 acres where animal habitats including the plains, forest and wetlands are recreated. The area features lots of dense vegetation, therefore its not surprising that this particular attraction may need a bit of TLC post Hurricane Ian.
Also, we aren’t sure what measures Disney takes with the animals during hurricanes and if they had to be sheltered away from the attraction.
No word yet on when the attraction might be back up and running. We expect it may be a day or two before debris is cleared from the ride. This is a story that we will continue to follow closely. Readers are encouraged to keep following along with us for further Walt Disney World news and updates.
