The Weirdest BLT You’ve Ever Seen Might Also be the Best at EPCOT’s Festival of the Arts
Hello Disney friends! Today is the day — the 2024 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts has just begun and MickeyBlog is there to check everything out.
We are bringing you a first look at the offerings at this year’s festival, and you don’t want to miss out on any of the fun like merchandise, entertainment, and of course, delicious eats! Let’s check out one the returning food booths, the Deconstructed Dish.
The Deconstructed Dish
The Deconstructed Dish is located in World Discovery near Test Track. The booth offers food that is, you guessed it, deconstructed — it’s a creative take on some traditional cuisine.
Menu items include the Deconstructed BLT (made with pork belly, onion bread pudding, watercress espuma, and tomato jam) for $7.25, and the Deconstructed Key Lime Pie (made with flexible key lime Curd, “key lime” mousse, graham cracker cake, and meringues) for $6.50.
Drink options include the Deconstructed Strawberry Mint Julep for $4.50, the Deconstructed Strawberry Mint Julep with bourbon for $12, and the Wicked Weed Brewing Blank Canvas Belgian Blonde Witbier, which is $5.75 for 6 oz. and $9.75 for 12 oz.
Now, let’s try some of these items!
Delicious Offerings
First up is the Deconstructed BLT. The onion bread pudding has a nice flavor blending herbs and onions with a generous portion of that sweet tomato jam on top.
The pork belly is delicious and perfectly crispy (although, this did make it a little difficult to cut). The sauce is very mild and adds a fresh flavor to the dish — it tasted slightly herbal to us!
Next up is the Deconstructed Key Lime Pie, which is one of the items on the Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine. Our team thought the flexible lime curd was a little unusual in terms the texture, but it was great on flavor.
It was the perfect blend of sweet and tart, and you definitely get the lime flavor.
The small graham cracker cake is moist and has the slightest hint of vanilla. Definitely check this out!
Our reporting team also tried the Deconstructed Strawberry Mint Julep with bourbon and noted it is definitely heavy on the bourbon.
They added the strawberry purée (which is in the tube) and mixed it up for a better taste!
This drink wasn’t a hit with the team, and they felt it tasted like artificial mint.
